Not too long ago, my door bell rang and I found myself in possession of the Rawjuvenate Detox System by Raw Green Organics. Am I the healthiest vegan? Um, no. Do I eat vegan ice cream for dinner sometimes? No comment. While I love my kale and I often eat a salad, I’ll admit, I could certainly use more healthy options in my routine, so the Rawjuvenate system is a welcome addition in my household.
The system has five components for a complete cleanse: Organic Super Green, Vegetarian Protein, Super Aloe, Super Fiber, and Super Probiotics, all of which are raw. Check out this video to see how these components work together:
I started by trying the Organic Super Green drink mix, an impressive blend of greens including Barley Grass, Wheat Grass, Spirulina Powder, and no nasty additives. The directions said 1 tablespoon of powder can be added to 8 ounces of water (or the beverage of your choice), so I thought I’d try it straight up. I’ll admit, I was reluctant to drink it. I mean, how can water and green powder taste good together? To my surprise, it wasn’t bad at all. It was actually sweet and not too earthy. In the future, I’ll add it to other beverages, but it’s nice to know that if I need to get my greens in, all I need is a glass of water and Organic Super Green. This powder is perfect for smoothies, so you can skip chopping greens and just add it to a fruit blend.
I busted out my blender to try the Vegetarian Protein powder, which is made up of only 3 ingredients; Pea Protein Isolate, Natural Vanilla Flavor, and Stevia. In to the blender went 2 tablespoons of protein powder, 8 ounces of water, banana, apple, and a handful of strawberries. A few minutes later, I was having my smoothie breakfast, and while I could taste the powder in this, it was not intrusive. It seemed to add a thickness to the smoothie that was almost creamy and I found myself feeling full after I had finished my drink. The smoothie stuck with me for hours after I was done, which means it’s perfect for a liquid meal and you won’t find yourself starving shortly after drinking it.
The Aloe, Probiotics, and Fiber supplements are all designed for gastrointestinal support, so these babies are there to keep you regular. I’m a fan of probiotics, so I was happy to see them included in the kit and these have 20 billion CFUs, which is higher than most probiotics on the market. While I tend to get fiber in my diet, it’s nice to have a supplement option, especially for those cleansing. I have heard many things about the health benefits of aloe, so I’m curious to see what affect these have over time. Overall, it’s a great system and an alternate to the many overpriced raw cleanses that I’ve seen around, so I would recommend Raw Green Organics for anyone wanting optimal health, jumpstart their diet regimen or in need of a cleanse.
